Alcoholism and domestic violence are major issues in Alaska


[Loeb:]
I think the treatment of women is definitely a barrier to care.
[Lindberg:]
In what way?
[Loeb:]
There is still quite a bit of abuse that goes on.
[Lindberg:]
Yeah, I’ve heard that. How is that possible and at the same time they’re telling you this is a matriarchal society?
[Loeb:]
I can only tell you what I’ve seen and, you know, there’s quite a bit of alcoholism and definitely contributes to the problem, but between alcoholism and domestic violence that’s a huge issue.
