My grandparents' home town of Elbow Woods was an all-American city before it was flooded

My grandparents grew up in Elbow Woods which is one of the villages that was drowned once the lake was created, and we actually saw the documentary called The Water Busters that kind of detailed what happened, and just the stories that they would tell and the picture that they had ? Their town looked like an all-American city, and then after that things were never the same and I think? I don't know if that was part of the reason why my grandparents moved just looking for different opportunities or a new home.

Maybe discouraged.

Maybe. Maybe but at the same time optimistic. I mean, they found a home.
