They were upset with him. They balled him out, and he basically told them they weren’t doing anything for me and they weren’t telling me what was going on. So rather than deal with the issue, the Czechoslovakian physician turned around and sent him to a different hospital. So you can imagine what happened. Two or three days later he AMA’d from there. He showed up in my clinic, and basically what I told him was “You have a very severe ulcer and you know why, and I know you don’t want your fingers cut off and your hand, so what we’re going to need to do, is see you every other day to debride your wound and clean it and care for it, and if we can save it, we’ll save it. If we can’t, you must do things my way now for your way is not working.” By gosh, that fellow showed up every day, and he’s still got those fingers and that hand.
