Difference of diagnostic technique between a modern doctor and a traditional healer

Let me describe a difference between my experience with Choctaw Health Center and a Native healer.
[Lindberg:]

If you go to Choctaw Health Center they will ask you what’s wrong with you. And to me, they should give me some tests, and then tell me what’s wrong with me. Where in the Native setting, the Native person will not ask you what’s wrong with you. They will do a diagnostic process without asking you questions, and then afterwards is when they’ll say is this the problem, which to me is the difference.
