Hawaiian health program recognizes Native healers

So do you think that in Hawai‘i that it’s easily decided whether a person should take a traditional healing, traditional medicine, or Western medicine? Does that work out reasonably?
[Inyoue:]
In our health program, we have recognized Native healers. And in fact, for the first time, we have grant programs to support Native healers, and they have resulted in some astounding findings. At one time, we had just one Native doctor, but he decided to join us and now there are about twelve of them.
