1884: Hawaiian children promised education

Bernice Pauahi Bishop establishes the second Ali‘i Trust upon her death in October. Pauahi, the great-granddaughter of Kamehameha I, requests in her Last Will and Testament that her estate be used to found The Kamehameha Schools for the education of Hawaiian children.
