Case 4: Bioterrorism -- Community Preparedness (Page 31 of 49)
Phase Two: Finding the Information
Q13. What are the broad concepts that you might use when combining terms for running your search?
Your search strategy will depend very much on how you or your client think about the question of community preparedness. The concepts you end up using will often be determined by your client's needs.
You might also consider the professional status of the individual asking the question. A professional, for example, might require more technical materials. A politician or member of the public might require different levels of content complexity and might ask for searches of databases you might not commonly use in your day to day work.
As you look at materials and think about possible concepts, writing down those concepts will help you think about possible search terms from an authorized vocabulary such as MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).
You will likely want to run several searches in subject-appropriate databases like PubMed in order to see what has already been published.
What broad concepts did you think of for your search on bioterrorism and preparedness?
