Citation Format

Citations displayed in Citation format provide the summary information in addition to:

  • Author names are displayed and available as “search links” to author searches. [Show Me]

  • Abstract, if one is present from the published article.

  • MeSH terms are displayed and available as “search links.” [Show Me]

  • Personal name as subject, if present.

  • Chemical Names of Substances, if any are present, are displayed and available as “search links.” [Show Me]

  • Secondary Source Identifiers (if present) identifying a secondary source that supplies information, e.g., other data sources, databanks and accession numbers of molecular sequences (e.g., GenBank; ClinicalTrials.gov – beginning in July 2005)

  • Grant numbers, if any are present, are displayed and available as “search links.” [Show Me]

  • PubMed unique identifier.

  • Annotations to associated citations (e.g., errata).

  • Links to full-text of the article at provider's Web site or PubMed Central, if available.

  • Links to Related Articles, LinkOut, and other NCBI databases.
