Data Changes

New Dose Form Added
RxNorm includes a new dose form: Transdermal System. This dose form replaces the Transdermal Patch dose form and is defined as an adhesive patch that delivers medication at a set rate systemically over a defined period of time. All drugs previously using the Transdermal Patch dose form now have the Transdermal System dose form. This change affects approximately 160 active drugs.

Qualitative Distinction
Please see the technical documentation for an explanation of Qualitative Distinctions (QDs), which were first release in the August monthly release.
