MedlinePlus.gov Domain Announcement. NLM Tech Bull. 2016 Jul-Aug;(411):b4.

On July 12, 2016, the domain in MedlinePlus.gov URLs was changed to “medlineplus.gov.”

Previously, the site directed visitors to pages under the root www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus. After July 12, MedlinePlus pages officially live on the medlineplus.gov domain. This change is effective for all page URLs on the English and Spanish MedlinePlus sites.

For example, the URL for the English health topic page "Asthma" changed:

From

     https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/asthma.html

To

     https://medlineplus.gov/asthma.html

The URL for the Spanish health topic page "Asma" changed:

From

     https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/spanish/asthma.html

To

     https://medlineplus.gov/spanish/asthma.html

The previous URLs automatically redirect to the new URLs. However, we suggest updating MedlinePlus links on your Web site to point to the new domain for the English and Spanish sites at medlineplus.gov and medlineplus.gov/spanish.
