On October 1, 2020, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) will discontinue ToxTown and Community Health Maps. The decision to discontinue these resources are in line with our commitment to the NLM Strategic Plan 2017-2027: A Platform for Biomedical Discovery and Data-Powered Health.

ToxTown

The ToxTown discontinuation is also part of the initiative to align and consolidate the Library’s consumer health information to make it easier for online health information seekers to find and navigate trusted health information from NLM.

We invite users to visit topics related to environmental health, safety, and toxicology on MedlinePlus, NLM’s flagship website for health information for patients, families, and the general public.

Community Health Maps

Community Health Maps moved to a new home in March 2020. Bird’s Eye View will continue to maintain the informational blog and tutorials on using low-cost GIS tools public health mapping. Please bookmark the new URL at https://www.communityhealthmaps.org.
