This program allows students to train at NLM during the school year as part of research groups directed by a Principal Investigator (PI). NLM offers research opportunities in computational biology and computational health research.
Length of Award
Maximum nine months in one academic school year (mid-August to mid-May)
Eligibility
To be considered for the Academic Internship Program, applicants should be:
- 18 years of age or older
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents (foreign nationals ineligible)
- high school graduates that have been accepted into accredited college or university programs at the time of application or students in college (including community college) or graduate/professional school
Application Process
The AIP does not have a formal application process; NLM PIs make decisions about hiring AIP interns and complete the AIP registration process once you are accepted.
