NLM Board of Scientific Counselors

Each NIH Division of Intramural Research has a Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) that provides advice on the quality of the intramural research program at its home Institute or Center. The BSC is be composed of individuals who have outstanding scientific credentials and who are committed to providing rigorous, objective reviews. Although the principal purpose of these independent evaluations is to advise the Scientific Directors, the reports of the BSCs are also distributed to the Director, National Institutes of Health, the Deputy Director for Intramural Research, and the appropriate Institute or Center (IC) Director. The NLM BSC also reports annually to the Board of Regents of NLM.
