2016 March 10 [posted]

The March 2016 US Edition of SNOMED CT is now available for download.

In addition to 722 new concepts specific to the US, the March 2016 US Edition of SNOMED CT also contains all of the content from the January 2016 International Release of SNOMED CT.

New content includes Convergent Medical Terminology (CMT) content in the specialization areas of ophthalmology, pediatric medicine, musculoskeletal, skin and respiratory, endocrine and hematology/oncology.

Additional areas also include emergency medical services and content for US Meaningful Use.

Please note: The International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO), the owners of SNOMED CT, announced the deprecation and withdrawal of support for RF1 format. The plan and timeline for support withdrawal can be reviewed on IHTSDO News. NLM will align with the deprecation timeline for the US Edition RF1 release. IHTSDO and NLM strongly encourage users to use RF2 as the recommended format for SNOMED CT data.
