The April full monthly release of RxNorm is available as of Monday, April 2, 2018 and includes a new "BX Rating" Qualitative Distinction. Qualitative Distinction (QD) modifiers allow flexibility in the RxNorm model to create a new RxNorm Concept Unique Identifier (RXCUI) when needed. The new "BX Rating" QD helps identify generic methylphenidate products that do not provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand-name drug Concerta.
