The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is pleased to announce six new SNOMED CT related releases available for download.

  • SNOMED CT Nursing Activities Reference Set (Refset) Package:
    This reference set includes a subset of frequently used SNOMED CT concepts in nursing practice for nursing activities. This release is based on the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.
  • SNOMED CT Nursing Health Issues Refset Package:
    This reference set includes a subset of frequently used SNOMED CT concepts used in nursing practice for nursing health issues. This release is based the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.
  • SNOMED CT General Dentistry Diagnostic Refset Package:
    This reference set is a reference set of diagnostic terms, designed to provide dentistry with an easy to implement set of terms that covers the vast majority of care provided in the dental field. This release is based the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.
  • SNOMED CT Odontogram Refset Package:
    This reference set is for use in dentistry, specifically for use in the electronic dental record (EDR) for odontogram visualization and representation of patient's current oral condition. This release is based the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.
  • SNOMED CT International Patient Set (IPS) Refset Package:
    This reference set is designed to standardize and record basic medical data that includes the most important clinical information to patient safety and healthcare. This release is based on the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.
  • SNOMED CT General Practitioner/Family Practitioner (GP/FP) Refset Package:
    This reference set is designed for use in general/family practice clinical settings within electronic health records (EHRs). It is intended for use as the 'core' subset for two commonly used data fields — reasons for encounter and health issues. This release is based on the July 2020 SNOMED CT International Edition.

In addition to these six new releases, SNOMED International is pleased to announce the September 2020 SNOMED Global Patient Set (GPS) refset is available for download from the SNOMED GPS Webpage on the SNOMED International website.

To download the release, you must have a UMLS Terminology Services login and agree to the UMLS Metathesaurus License.
