The RxNorm September 2024 monthly release became available on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. This release includes updated COVID-19 vaccines.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved and authorized for emergency use updated COVID-19 vaccines formulated to better protect against currently circulating variants (FDA news release).
Here are the new RxNorm COVID-19-related concepts:
- RXCUI 2691172: 0.25 ML SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine, mRNA-1273 OMICRON (KP.2) 0.1 MG/ML Prefilled Syringe
- RXCUI 2691196: SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine, mRNA-BNT162b2 OMICRON (KP.2) 0.01 MG/ML Injectable Suspension
- RXCUI 2691200: 0.3 ML SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine, mRNA-BNT162b2 OMICRON (KP.2) 0.0333 MG/ML Injection
- RXCUI 2691212: 0.3 ML SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine, mRNA-BNT162b2 OMICRON (KP.2) 0.1 MG/ML Prefilled Syringe [Comirnaty 2024-2025]
- RXCUI 2691219: 0.3 ML SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine, mRNA-BNT162b2 OMICRON (KP.2) 0.1 MG/ML Injection [Comirnaty 2024-2025]
