Small Business R&D Funding Opportunities

The NLM Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program nurtures innovation in biomedical informatics—a multidisciplinary field that combines biomedical research with data science, informatics, and information technology. The program aims to encourage small businesses to develop novel technologies, tools, and platforms that can enhance health care delivery, biomedical research, data management, and health information dissemination. Scientific areas of research interest include Data Science, Bioinformatics, Translational Bioinformatics, Clinical Informatics, Public Health Informatics, and Personal Health Informatics. Research addressing the needs of populations that experience health disparities that are intersectional with these scientific areas are also of interest.
