Important changes made to the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) in 2024 can be previewed on the What’s New in MeSH page and at the following links:

Overall MeSH 2024 contains 311 new, 1,044 modified, and 1 deleted descriptors. In addition, it contains 367 new, 849 modified, and 120 deleted (mostly promoted to descriptors) Supplementary Concept Records (SCRs). MeSH worked with NIH scientists on a special project to revamp stress-related concepts in MeSH 2024.

New MeSH is available for viewing in the MeSH Browser starting September 1st, 2023, and will be used for various NLM products (e.g., MEDLINE indexing and cataloging) in early December 2023.
