In this module, we describe how health statistics collections are organized and suggest a number of starting points to initiate searches. We present a review featuring several strategies that librarians and researchers can use to find health statistics.

The unit starts by considering how researchers can focus their goals when searching for health statistics and how librarians can help them do that.

This unit covers:
  • What to consider when searching for health statistics
  • Search strategies that take advantage of the “natural structure” of health statistics information and
  • Strategies researchers can use to maximize their effectiveness in finding health statistics material.
