Holdings Reports


Opening and viewing Holdings Reports


Recommended:*

  1. Save your downloaded Journal Holdings Report.
  2. In Excel, open a new blank spreadsheet.
  3. From the Data tab, in the "Get & Transform Data" group, click From Text/CSV.

  4. In the Import Data dialog box, locate and double-click the text file that you want to import, and click Import.
  5. In the preview dialog box, choose 65001: Unicode (UTF-8) from the File Origin pull-down in the top left.
  6. Select Load.
  7. Save your new spreadsheet of Holdings data.

*result will use Excel features and appear like this:

Report Name

Description

Holdings by Library

A report of all holdings for a single library. The data is sorted by title.
Includes these columns:

  • LIBID
  • Serial Title
  • NLM Unique ID
  • ISSNs
  • Holdings Format*
  • Holdings
  • Retention Policy
  • Limited Retention Period
  • Limited Retention Type (months, years, editions)
  • Embargo Period (months)
  • Has Epub Ahead Print
  • Has Supplements
  • Last Modified

*OCLC number is not included because NLM bibliographic records for serials include OCLC numbers for the corresponding OCLC print record, almost exclusively (due to NLM's single bibliographic record cataloging approach prior to the implementation of BIBFRAME).
