NLM funds training and career grants to develop and support the next generation of Data Science, Bioinformatics, Translational Bioinformatics, Clinical Informatics, Public Health Informatics, and Personal Health Informatics researchers—people just entering graduate school, finishing their doctorates, or coming in from other fields. These awards enable committed scientists to gain education and experience. We award some grants to individuals, while others go to specific projects or educational institutions.
