Private Organizations that Report Health Statistics
A range of health statistics are produced and presented by private organizations. This page provides some examples.
  • American Medical Association collects and reports statistics about physicians who practice in the United States.
  • American Hospital Association conducts an annual survey of hospitals. This census provides the base information used to design several government health surveys. As well, the association issues periodic reports on health care and conditions.
  • American Cancer Society publishes cancer incidence, prevalence and survival rates. these estimates are prepared in collaboration with the National Cancer institute.
  • Henry J Kaiser Foundation publishes state health facts showing the variation in health conditions in states.
  • Trust for America’s Health publishes information on disease rates by state and its website allows for state comparisons.
