Although the NLM Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) provides the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature (CDT) terminology for value set creation, VSAC will no longer allow inclusion of CDT range codes (e.g., "D4210-D4999") in value sets.

These range codes are a representation of categories within CDT and are not official codes that can be used in applications. VSAC previously and mistakenly provided these CDT range codes as valid codes for inclusion in value sets.

For the time being, for informational and terminology browsing purposes, VSAC will currently continue to display CDT range codes in the Browse Code Systems section of VSAC, but VSAC will no longer allow inclusion of CDT range codes (e.g., "D4210-D4999") in value sets.
