- The International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) acquired SNOMED Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in April 2007.
- NLM, the U.S. Member of the IHTSDO, distributes the International Releases of SNOMED CT in English and Spanish.
- Additional information about the change in ownership of SNOMED CT and the effect on U.S. licensees is available at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/snomed.
- NLM also distributes SNOMED CT through the UMLS Metathesaurus.
