  • VAWnet: National Online Resource Center on Domestic Violence - Supported by a grant from the Administration for Children and Families, this website includes documents, funding information, tutorials, on domestic and sexual violence.
  • Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems - Member-owned organization devoted to improving the health status of communities throughout Vermont.
  • Vermont Children's Health Improvement Program - University of Vermont College of Medicine's population-based maternal and child health services research and quality improvement program.
  • Vermont State Data Center - A searchable resource created by the University of Vermont. It is divided by Vermont cities, towns, and villages, with information on demographics, transportation, education, and health resources in Vermont.
  • Veto Violence - Definitions, risk and protective Factors, consequences and research aimed at prevention practitioners to assist them in launching or enhancing local prevention efforts. Free registration is required to use any interactive tools.
  • Video: National Health Council-PCORI (February 2012) - In February 2012, the National Health Council held its annual Voluntary Health Leadership Conference in San Diego, California. Joe Selby, MD, MPH, Executive Director of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, was interviewed by the NHC about how better information gleaned through comparative effectiveness research can lead to better health decisions.

  • Violence Against Women - A collection of documents, consumer health materials, and structured searches of PubMed and from the National Library of Medicine.
  • Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 - Passed in March of 2013, this legislation reauthorizes the Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
  • Violence as a Public Health Problem - This document provides a definition, background and recommendations for screening and prevention of domestic violence.
  • Violence Prevention: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - This section of CDC provides valuable documents on many forms of violence including child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, elder abuse, and sexual violence.
  • Violence Prevention: Centre for Public Health - The Centre for Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention. The website provides access to a database of abstracts of published papers, a trials registry, and a listing of international reports on the topic.
  • Violence Prevention: Evidence Base - This tool from the Centre for Public Health provides access to abstracts from international published studies that have measured the effectiveness of interventions to prevent violence, including child abuse, elder abuse, and intimate partner violence.
  • Violence, Trauma: Evidence-Based Reports - A series of reports on various issues related to violence. Included are research reports on intimate partner violence and child abuse.
  • Virginia Health Information (VHI) - A nonprofit that provides Virginia-centered health information. Qualifying organizations can license data files (e.g., Virginia hospital discharge data, Annual Licensure Survey Data from hospitals, nursing facilities and ambulatory surgical centers) for research-specific projects or for general public use.
  • Visualizing Health - This site contains examples of tested and evaluated graphic displays of health information. The health visualizations include graphs, charts, and images that effectively communicate risk information and help make sense of health data.

  • Visualizing Income and Assets Among Medicare Beneficiaries: Now and in the Future - This interactive tool describes the income, savings and home equity of people on Medicare in 2013, and in 2030 (in 2013 inflation adjusted dollars).
  • Vital Signs: Core Metrics for Health and Health Care Progress - This study discusses the core measures that will yield the clearest understanding and focus on better health and well-being for Americans
  • VIVO - Vivo is a scientific collaboration tool, focusing on the areas of food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues. It brings together information on the people, agencies, units, and other resources that make up the research environment within the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) science agencies Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Economic Research Service (ERS), National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), and Forest Service (FS).
