This AI Summit aims to equip library and health information professionals with the understanding required to meet the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence across all areas of their work. Through examining search and discovery algorithms, AI literacy initiatives, collection development strategies, research workflows, and clinical applications, attendees will gain actionable knowledge to consider in implementing AI ethically and effectively in their institutions. By convening health information professionals with corporate partners in this rapidly evolving technological landscape, the summit facilitates essential professional development for those serving on the frontlines of information services. Enabling Discovery of Biomedical Research Data: Introducing the Dataset Catalog

On February 1, 2024, NLM announced the launch of a beta version of a new online tool, the Dataset Catalog. This tool is intended to improve the discoverability and reuse of research data by making it easier for users to search, find, and connect biomedical datasets. NLM developed the underlying Dataset Metadata Model, or DATMM, to provide information for describing data in datasets and repositories across the biomedical ecosystem. This presentation will discuss the importance of enabling discovery and advancing findability of biomedical research data and provide an overview of the recently launched Dataset Catalog and its underlying data model.

The All of Us Data Training and Engagement for Academic Libraries Program, supported by the NLM, aims to help campus libraries with the All of Us Researcher Workbench platform and equip library workers with the expertise to teach others to employ it, as a means of growing institutional research capacity and enhancing skills in biomedical and public health data. In this session, take a crash course in what this tool is, why it could be an asset to your institution, how to tailor messaging to the researchers, and connect with those who are working first-hand to promote meaningful use of the Researcher Workbench within their campus communities.
