This RxNorm Current Prescribable Content release is consistent with the 2018AB UMLS Metathesaurus release. For additional information about RxNorm releases, including scripts for loading the RxNorm data into Oracle and MySQL databases, read the RxNorm Technical Documentation.

Data Changes

SPL Biologic Substance Names
RxNorm now includes the FDA’s nonproprietary biologic substance names with 4 letter suffixes from the DailyMed Indexing file. These biologic product names are in the FDA Structured Product Labeling (MTHSPL) source terminology with the term type of SU (TTY = SU).

Here are examples of the MTHSPL biologic substances in RxNorm:
