July Release - 7/01/2019

This release of RxNorm is consistent with the 2019AA UMLS Metathesaurus release. For additional information about RxNorm releases, including scripts for loading the RxNorm data into Oracle and MySQL databases, read the RxNorm Technical Documentation.

Data Changes

New "Vaginal Sponge" Dose Form
The new RxNorm “Vaginal Sponge” dose form is defined as a disposable sponge saturated with a medication to be placed in the vagina, covering the cervix. It is currently used to represent a contraceptive product. This change affects one branded medication concept and its related data graph:
