RxNorm Data Changes

New RxNorm Term Types

RxNorm has added three new term types (TTYs).

These new TTYs will improve the RxNorm model for medications using precise ingredients as the basis of strength substance.

The RxNorm team is working to map the new term types to the current sources in RxNorm. While a significant portion will be completed for the September release, there may be additional mappings that are added over the next few months.

The new TTYs will have the following relationships in RXNREL.RRF:

SCDFP

SBDFP

SCDGP
