RxNorm Data Changes

In response to drug shortages in the United States, the FDA is allowing the import of drugs to meet demand. While NLM does not consider products manufactured and sold exclusively in other countries to be in-scope for RxNorm, we will include drugs imported due to a drug shortage if we are provided with information by our source providers that can be verified through the FDA. For further information about the FDA and drug shortages see: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-shortages/frequently-asked-questions-about-drug-shortages.
