Data Changes

NDF-RT Removed Beginning 2019
REMINDER: Veterans Health Administration’s National Drug File – Reference Terminology (NDF-RT) has been removed from RxNorm. The January RxNorm release and all future RxNorm releases will not contain NDF-RT.

Medication Reference Terminology (MED-RT) replaces NDF-RT. There are no plans to include MED-RT in RxNorm; however, MED-RT is included in the UMLS Metathesaurus along with RxNorm and its source vocabularies. MED-RT is also included in several RxNorm API resources. For more information about MED-RT, see Introduction to MED-RT as the Replacement for NDF-RT.
