- Publication types in MeSH may be used by catalogers unless they are annotated “CATALOG: do not use” or “Not used for indexing or cataloging”
- A few publication types are used only for historical materials or NLM collaborating partners and these have an annotation of “CATALOG: do not use for current materials”
