Purpose
The USP Compendial Nomenclature provides official substance and official preparation (product) naming for Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved drugs and their ingredients.

Description
The USP Compendial Nomenclature contains names and identifiers of an official substance or official preparation (product) for which a monograph is provided in an official compendium, such as the United States Pharmacopeia, recognized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Update Frequency
The USP Compendial Nomenclature is updated monthly.
