Meet the Associates

Amy McNeely
Ms. McNeely received her MLIS in June 2006 from UCLA. She has four years of cataloging experience as a student and Library Technical Assistant, including experience in original and copy cataloging, authority file creation, and adding local subject headings and notes to catalog records. She also has experience with the California Cultures Digitization Project, where she reviewed and edited digital metadata and previewed digital objects for quality and accuracy. As an IT Lab Assistant at UCLA, she provided hardware and software support for the faculty and students in the Department of Information Studies. Her undergraduate degree is in English.

Robin Featherstone
Robin recently graduated from the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Concurrently, she worked at the W.K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library in the Reference and Circulation Departments. Before moving to Halifax, Robin managed the Cadboro Bay Book Company in Victoria British Columbia. She has undergraduate degrees from McGill University in Montreal in the fields of English Literature and Anthropological Archaeology. Robin also spent a year during her undergraduate education as an exchange student at the University of Bristol in Southwest England. While there she studied British literature and marine archaeology. Her professional interests include global health information and providing resources for underserved communities. She has also researched policy issues surrounding the use of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology and presented a poster session at the 2006 Canadian Library Association Conference in Ottawa.

Alison Rollins
Ms. Rollins received MLS and MIS degrees, with a Chemical Information Specialist Certificate, in May 2006 from Indiana University. She has experience indexing health care services as part of the Indiana GoLocal project at Ruth Lilly Medical Library. She also has reference and web maintenance experience at the Indiana University Chemistry Library, and special library experience in reference, circulation, and bibliography production. Her undergraduate degree is in Biology and English.

Meredith Solomon
Ms. Solomon received her MLS from Emporia State University in May 2006. She has eight years experience as a Library Technical Assistant at Tuality Healthcare, a community hospital is Hillsboro, Oregon where she gained experience in reference interviewing, online searching, interlibrary loan, library instruction, and circulation. During her tenure at Tuality Healthcare, she worked on electronic document delivery with the aid of funds from an award given by her Regional Medical Library. Ms. Solomon also has circulation experience in public and academic library settings. Previously, Ms. Solomon developed management and training skills as a team leader for Hollywood Entertainment’s Oregon distribution center. Her undergraduate degree is in Liberal Studies.

Courtney Crummett
Ms. Crummett received her MLS in August of 2006 from the University of South Florida. As a Graduate Assistant in the School of Library and Information Science, she supported the technology, teaching, and research needs of the faculty. Ms. Crummett has library experience in academic and corporate settings. Ms Crummett holds an MS in geology from the University of Maryland, College Park where she gained teaching and experimental laboratory experience. Her interests include toxicology and environmental health information access and tool development, the impact of technology on information access and information seeking behaviors, social softwares, and electronic resources.

Marisa Conte
Ms. Conte received her MLIS in May 2006 from Wayne State University, concentrating her studies in information science and health sciences librarianship. She gained experience in instruction, reference and programming as a Graduate Assistant in Wayne State’s Undergraduate Library, and also has varied experience as a volunteer in two hospital libraries. As a Graduate Instructional Assistant, she conducted research in library services to bilingual populations and web-based distance learning, and participated in a cumulative journal indexing project. Prior to beginning her career in librarianship, Ms. Conte had nine years of customer service and operational experience in the airline industry. Her undergraduate training was in Medieval Studies.

Abdrahamane Anne
Mr. Anne is from Mali and is participating in the program as an International Fellow.  He received his MA in Librarianship in 1994 from the Bielorussian University of Culture. He received his MIS in 2003 from l'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Sciences de l'Information et des Bibliotheques in Villeurbanne, France.  In Mali, he has been a reference librarian at the Faculte de Medecine de Pharmacie and d'Odonto-stomatologie of Bamako since 1998.  His responsibilities include online searching of Medline, Pascal, and other online health information sources; developing Web sites, managing a local database management system, and contributing to publication of “Digest Sante Mali,” a quarterly bibliographic review for Malian health workers.  Prior to his current position, he was a librarian at the Centre Amadou Hampate Ba in Bamako and also completed two 6-month internships at the Bielorussian National Library. His undergraduate training was in Humanities.
