The Reform-Medical Practice: with a History of Medicine, from the earliest period to the present time,…, Faculty of the Reform Medical College of Georgia, Macon, GA, 1857

The authors of this book present a comprehensive history of medicine from the vantage point of a sectarian challenger. They vigorously argue against the then contemporary medical treatments, stating “…those three champions of death and torture, poisons, the lancet and the blister, shall be consigned to their merited oblivion, so far as the sick are concerned, and until the noble truths of Medical Reform shall triumph over error, and spread abroad over the world, ‘for the healing of nations.’” (page 154)

The history of medicine recounted by the Faculty of the Reform Medical College of Georgia looks very different from the version presented elsewhere by "regular" physicians.
