The historical essay "Medical Lore in the Older English Dramatists" had first been presented to the Historical Club of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prominently published here in one of the most esteemed scientific medical journals of the time, the essay illustrates the high regard historical studies had attained for the medical leaders of the day.
